1- Sing
Sing a song, make it good
Sing me a love song, I´m in love
Sing those sad old song you always do, sing a blues song. I’m feelin´ blue
Tell me a story, tell me a tale
Where the bad guys win and the good guy fails
Sing a sad and lonely melody. Sing a song for me.
Take me outta here take me away
Take me away from this, let the music play
Take me outta here, take me under your wing
Do me a favour… Sing
One more song,one more tune.
It’s just me and you here in a darkened room
Everybody else has gone home, it’s getting late now, we´re alone
Every lines a whisper, each notes a kiss. They´re writing songs still but not like this
There´s no place I´d rather be. Sing a song for me. Take me outta here….
A voice dipped in honey, sweeter now. Before I say goodnight tonight, take a bow
Take me outta here…..
2- One of those Days
It was one of those days, when the traffic got stuck in glue
All the lights were red and all the signs said no way through
It was one of those days, when the weather couldn’t make up its mind
Spring,Summer,Autumn, Wintertime, one of those days
It was one of those days, when you couldn’t find a place to hide
All hitch no ride, one of those days
When you ask someone for the time, but you don’t like the answer they give
You´re not sure if you´re losin´ your mind but you´re losin´ the will to live
It was one of those days that’s wrong all wrong, one of those days that just goes on and on and on
It was one of those days
It was one of those days, when you couldn´t find a spot in the shade,
Somewhere to chill, an hour to kill, somewhere to play
It was one of those days when you didn´t know which way to turn
Frostbite, sunburn…one of those days
It was one of those days, when you just didn´t get the joke
No fire all smoke…one of those days
When you ask someone for directions but nobody knows the way
And you´re trying to think of something but you don´t know what to say
It was one of those days that’s wrong all wrong, one of those days that just goes on and on and on
It was one of those days
3- Most of theTime
It’s the old dog for the hard road, the only road that I know
The older I get the harder the road that I roam
There’s a silence as the sun sets, a calm as the day disappears
There’s a place that I find in the back of my mind that’s still clear
I know how it goes, I’ve walked this road before. It´s a long road when you´re walking alone
Ah you know how it goes, you need a hand to hold
Well hold on, it gets better now. Most of the time
I dreamed I was part of the circus, I was balancing on the high wire
The crowd cried you clown, it´s time to come down, you´ll fall you´ll fail for sure
You´ve got a hump to get over, I´ve got a mountain to climb
Nobody knows where the road goes but we´ll get there sometime
We know how it goes, seen it all before. We are where we are but where do we go
We know how it goes, talk, cleanse your soul.
Well I´ve talked and it’s better now. Most of the time.
Most of the time I try to be strong, trying so hard but I still get it wrong
Take it like a man, put my bravest face on. Most of the time.
4- Old Dogs
I don’t want to fight, I don’t want to walk away
I don’t want to win or lose or have to choose again
I don’t want tonight to be all about what could have been
Or everything that should have been but never was
I don’t want to stand out here in the rain
I feel colder now than I´ve ever been
Leave the past alone, let’s go home, dry your eyes
Leave old dogs lie, let old dogs lie
I don’t want to shout, I don’t want the world to know
I don’t want to listen to what I put you through again
I don’t want my life to be all about what we never had
Or the only luck we got was bad or what I deserve.
I don’t want to stand out here in the rain
I feel colder now than I´ve ever been
Leave the past alone, lets go home, dry your eyes
Leave old dogs lie, let old dogs lie
5- Scream
You´re wrong and you know it
You´re bigger than this better than this, no point in being a fool unless you show it
You´re scared but you hide it away so well
You turn your pillow but you still can´t sleep
You toss and turn, the night goes by so slowly
You drift away to your own space where the worries of the world all disappear
And no one gets to hear you scream
You´re stronger than you think you are my friend
This old road you´re shuffling down, its unapproved you don´t know where its going
Breath in, take it all in and take your time, you´ve got lots of time
I know sometimes you don’t share how you´re feeling
6. Love is Blind
I have been down this road before
I know just where it leads
I have walked and I have crawled down on my hands and knees
And it happens every time, I should have seen the signs
Its only love. Love is blind
My whole world has been turned upside down
And I am spilled across the floor
I´ve been abused and I´ve been messed around
But I keep coming back for more
Can someone tell one more time what’s my crime
Its only love and love is blind
Sometimes love´s blind, sometimes it sees
Sometimes it locks you up, sometimes it sets you free
I’m gonna give it one more go sure who’s to know
It´s only love. Love is blind
7- One step at a Time
Lately I´ve been thinking about giving up drinking for a while
Give my head some peace, go on a retreat for a while
Older, sober, take my turkey colder now
One step at a time. Sweet Jesus
My two feet they´ve been dragging trying to catch up to that wagon, they feel like lead
Across that desert dry, vultures circling in the sky overhead
Past tense, I’ve no sense, I can’t get across that last fence but I´ll try
One step at a time. Sweet Jesus
Lately I’ve been trying not to wake up dying every day
I´ll never learn my lesson with the ghosts of last night’s session haunting me
Swaying, praying, day out and day in, I´ll try
One step at a time. Sweet Jesus
The room has started spinning, I´m back at the beginning one more time
Slipping and sliding, I tripped and I fell outta line
Oh no, here I go marching against my old foe again
One step at a time. Sweet Jesus.
8 Let it Fall
The rain comes tumbling down steady
It rolls down the silver road, the river’s swollen already
People splash and curse as they make their way to work
The a steamy windowed bus takes them all to town
The rain keeps tumbling down heavy
There’s a woman in stiletto heels, she’s a little unsteady
As she dashes across the road, her little feet almost tippy toed
Into a waiting car and away
Let it fall let it fall let it fall
It won’t give, won’t give in, no at all.
Let it fall
The wind is blowing now, it’s not looking good
The rain is falling sideways it’s starting to flood
Dogs are still being walked, people don´t stop to talk
Their umbrellas hide determined frowns
The rain still tumbling down, its grey
I´ve a million things to do but not today
Everyone´s downing tools, it’s a day for the high stool
The best way to see today is looking out
Let it fall
9- Your Sun
It´s a life, it´s a living.
Keep your nose clean, keep your head down, chip away
Your time will come, thats a given, so don´t give up because today could be your day
When you least expect it those wall could tumble down
Everything will turn around
Do what you do, then do it better
Keep it up, do whatever keeps you sane
Never worry about bad weather, nobody ever drowned in a drop of rain
Before you realize it those clouds will blow away
Your sun will shine today
10- This is not the End
It´s not over yet, I´ll see you again somewhere down the road my friend
Somewhere along the way
Because I love you now, that’s never gonna change
It’s never gonna trip and fall or fail just because you´re not around
When I think of you, I feel glory. When I close my eyes I see you
This is not the end
This is not goodbye, I´ve so much more to say
All the words that ramble round my head, you´re gonna hear them all someday
When I think of you I feel splendour, when I walked with you I was saved
This is not the end
I am sure, I am certain.
I have faith and it’s clear to me this is not the end
11 Someday
Got caught out in the rain, it soaked me to the bone
I stepped into a doorway and I waited for the sun
But the sun it didn´t shine, the rain kept falling down
I stood out like a stranger in a one horse town
Sometimes I feel like screaming alright,
I’m sick and tired, I´ve had enough for one day, nothing’s going my way
Tired of waiting, short on patients
Not if I stood here for a month of Sundays, nothing’s going my way but someday
I stepped into your shoes and I walked a lonely mile
I looked at things from your side, smiling with your smile
I felt old today, I felt it in my bones. Looking over my shoulder, started feeling down
I know you know me, I know what you told me but it’s so hard to take in everything that you say
when nothing’s my way
I’m tired of waiting, short on patients, no wonder every day is one of those days
Nothing’s going my way but someday
Walking down that lonely mile
I’m getting there, it’s going to take a while
Maybe not today but someday
I’m tired of waiting, short on patients not if I stood here for a month of Sundays
Nothing’s going my way but someday
